    A curing chamber (10) for curing a workpiece by exposure to electromagnetic radiation, comprises at least three sidewalls (12, 14, 16, 18, 72) surrounding and at least partially defining an interior volume adapted to contain a workpiece. The sidewalls are reflective to electromagnetic radiation of a predetermined wavelength and each sidewall has a pair of opposed edges (121, 122, 141, 142, 161, 162, 181, 182), so that the edges of one sidewall are each located adjacent one of the opposed edges of an adjacent sidewall. The region between adjacent edges of adjacent sidewalls defines a respective elongated corner region (20, 74) in which there is located a radiation-emitting device (22). The radiation-emitting device, which may be an array of LEDs or other sources of suitable radiation to cure the workpiece, is of an elongate shape and is disposed along a corner region to emit electromagnetic radiation of said predetermined wavelength from a plurality of points along the length of the device into said interior volume when activated. The resulting distribution in radiation intensity within the chamber promotes more even and efficient curing of a workpiece.

    The invention relates to a method for producing a web-shaped composite material (30, 30') having a structured surface (13, 13'), comprising the steps: providing a web-shaped substrate (5) made of paper and/or plastic, applying a UV-curable coating layer (7) made of acrylated oligomer onto the substrate (5), forming a three-dimensional surface structure (13, 13ʹ) in the coating layer (7) which has been applied onto the substrate, and at least partially curing the coating layer by irradiation with high-energy radiation, preferably UV light. The aim of the invention is to be able to economically produce composite material of the aforementioned type using a method of this kind, which composite material is characterized by high mechanical strength and thermal resistance for use as a structuring means or as a coating material. This aim is achieved in that at least one adhesion promoter layer (8) containing acrylated oligomer, a reactive diluent and a photoinitiator which responds to high-energy radiation, preferably UV radiation, is applied onto the substrate (5) before the UV-curable coating layer (7) is applied, and in that the coating layer (7) comprising the three-dimensional surface structure (13, 13ʹ) is cured to such an extent that the composite material (30, 30ʹ), in the finished state, has an average Martens hardness according to DIN EN ISO 14577 in the range of 10-80 N/mm, wherein the indenter used as a test element for measuring the Martens hardness is pressed into the structured surface of the coating layer (7). The invention also relates to a composite material (30, 30ʹ) of this kind and to the use thereof.
