    In a method of generating extreme ultraviolet (EUV) radiation in a semiconductor manufacturing system one or more streams of a gas is directed, through one or more gas outlets mounted over a rim of a collector mirror of an EUV radiation source, to generate a flow of the gas over a surface of the collector mirror. The one or more flow rates of the one or more streams of the gas are adjusted to reduce an amount of metal debris deposited on the surface of the collector mirror.

    The present disclosure provides, according to some embodiments, methods and systems for selectively reducing, blocking or inhibiting at least part of the neural activity in an organ of a subject. In preferred embodiments, the method and system are used for selectively blocking at least part of the neural activity in a duodenum of a subject in need thereof. According to some embodiments, the selective blocking occurs through use of laser radiation. According to some embodiments, the selective blocking comprises causing damage to at least part of sensory nerves located within a target area while maintaining functional activity of tissue surrounding the sensory nerves. According to some embodiments, the sensory nerves include neurons configured to transmit signals triggered by food passing through the duodenum, such as, but not limited to, neurohormonal signals.

    A system and method for radiochromic film calibration utilizing non-ionizing radiation to achieve controlled and reproducible exposures without the need for ionizing radiation sources or specialized expertise. The system includes a non-ionizing photon source, such as LEDs or laser diodes, emitting ultraviolet or visible light, a mechanical shutter to control exposure duration, and a control unit regulating light emission and shutter operation. A variable optical element of a collimator can be used to shape and direct the light beam for uniform exposure. Precise calibration of the system is performed through a field radiometer for routine verification and periodic cross-validation with ionizing radiation sources.

    Methods of making a thermoset thermal energy gels, such as one having a radiation cured polymeric network, are disclosed. The methods include providing a hydrophobic PCM in its liquid state, adding a polybutadiene urethane acrylate oligomer and a mono-functional or di-functional crosslinker soluble in the hydrophobic PCM to the hydrophobic PCM while maintaining the liquid state of the hydrophobic phase change material to form a liquid homogenous mixture, then adding a photoinitiator, which is soluble in the hydrophobic PCM, with mixing to form a final mixture. Next, curing the final mixture occurs by exposure to radiation to form the thermoset thermal energy gel.

    A method for producing a reinforcement rod from a fibrous composite material comprising continuous mineral fibers and at least one resin, the resin being mixed with the dry mineral fibers, then wrapped with a strand of material, and the resin then being instantaneous or nearly instantaneously fully cured (e.g., snap cured) to form an optionally round rod with an optionally helical rib. In aspects, a mixture comprising an environmentally friendly and zero or low volatile organic compound (VOC) emitting resin and a resin-curing agent mixture is used. In aspects, helical ribs are added to the surface of the rod in a manner not to disrupt the longitudinal orientation of the core reinforcing mineral fibers. In aspects, ultraviolet irradiators are used to snap cure the reinforcement. When fully cured, corrosion resistant mineral fibers are encapsulated in a corrosion resistant matrix. The process allows for a simplified, condensed, and single operation for producing a corrosion resistant fibrous composite reinforcement rod.

    The present disclosure provides methods, systems, and devices for coregistering imaging data to form three-dimensional superimposed images of a biological target such as a wound, a tumor, or a surgical bed. A three-dimensional map can be generated by projecting infrared radiation at a target area, receiving reflected infrared radiation, and measuring depth of the target area. A three-dimensional white light image can be created from a captured two-dimensional white light image and the three-dimensional map. A three-dimensional fluorescence image can be created from a captured two-dimensional fluorescence image and the three-dimensional map. The three-dimensional white light image and the three-dimensional fluorescence image can be aligned using one or more fiducial markers to form a three-dimensional superimposed image. The superimposed image can be used to track wound healing and to excise cancerous tissues, for example, breast tumors. Images can be in the form of videos.

    Disclosed are embodiments of polymer compositions and systems that contain antimicrobial and wavelength-shifting metal nanoparticles. The polymer compositions containing metal nanoparticles protect exposed materials from UV radiation. The polymer compositions containing metal nanoparticles down convert incoming UV light to light that may have a longer wavelength. Unexpectedly, by selecting at least two differently configured nanoparticle components (e.g., different in size, shape, or both), each with specific particle size distribution, it is possible to effectively protect an area from damage resulting from exposure to UV radiation. In addition, spherical silver nanoparticles do not cause bacteria to become resistant as do convention silver nanoparticles made by chemical synthesis. Polymer compositions can be made from thermoplastic and thermoset materials.
