The method includes selectively curing a volume of polymerizable liquid in the build region by imparting electromagnetic radiation through the build window to form a printed layer of the part adhered to the build platform and actively cooling the build window to remove energy imparted by the electromagnetic radiation and the polymerization reaction of the polymerizable liquid such that the printed layer is between about 1° C. and about 30°° C. below an average part temperature prior to raising the print layer and printing the next layer.

    By combining a plurality of protective devices (PD), the present invention makes it possible to allow good transmission of primary X-rays and to reduce the strength of scattered X-rays in all directions. The scattered X-rays to be reduced are: those from above and from the sides for an additional shield box 1, which is a PD; and those from below for a high-performance table 2. Furthermore, by combining protective instruments in addition to PDs, it is possible to reduce the strength of scattered X-rays that leak to the sides from a pass-through port of a box due to human body movements during a surgery. Further using composite absorption material in various locations enables lineal energy absorption, with scattered X-rays being weakened. Thus, it is possible to reduce the radiation exposure of the patient and the medical worker and reduce the burden of protection for the medical worker.

    The identification of mutations that are present in a small fraction of DNA templates is essential for progress in several areas of biomedical research. Though massively parallel sequencing instruments are in principle well-suited to this task, the error rates in such instruments are generally too high to allow confident identification of rare variants. We here describe an approach that can substantially increase the sensitivity of massively parallel sequencing instruments for this purpose. One example of this approach, called “Safe-SeqS” for (Safe-Sequencing System) includes (i) assignment of a unique identifier (UID) to each template molecule; (ii) amplification of each uniquely tagged template molecule to create UID-families; and (iii) redundant sequencing of the amplification products. PCR fragments with the same UID are truly mutant (“super-mutants”) if ≥95% of them contain the identical mutation. We illustrate the utility of this approach for determining the fidelity of a polymerase, the accuracy of oligonucleotides synthesized in vitro, and the prevalence of mutations in the nuclear and mitochondrial genomes of normal cells.

    A method for forming a power semiconductor module arrangement includes: arranging a housing on a substrate, the housing having sidewalls and being arranged to directly adjoin the substrate such that the substrate forms a ground surface of the housing; filling a liquid, viscous or semi-liquid UV-curable potting material into the housing so as to cover the substrate with the potting material; irradiating a first portion of the potting material in areas of the potting material near an interface between the substrate and the sidewalls so as to seal any gaps between the substrate and the sidewalls; and irradiating a second portion of the potting material farther away from the interface between the substrate and the sidewalls than the first portion of the potting material to form an encapsulant. Irradiation of the first and second portions of the potting material takes place at different times and/or via different radiation sources.

The gas measuring device is assumed to be intact in a reference period (Ref_ZR). The objective is to check whether it is also intact in a verification period (Üb_ZR). In both periods, an indicator of system behavior of a system model is calculated in each case. This system model is excited with the input signal and provides the measured output signal in response to the excitation. The two system behavior indicators are compared with each other. Depending on this comparison, measuring device status information in the verification period is derived.
