    An optomechanical system for transducing an optical phase shift movement including a mechanical sensor including a sensor element, the sensor element having an upper face extending mainly into a plane called longitudinal plane, when the system is at rest, the mechanical sensor being intended to receive an acoustic wave to vibrate the sensor element at a vibration frequency. The system moreover includes an optical detector capable of guiding a light radiation substantially parallel to the longitudinal plane, the optical detector having an evanescent field. The vibration of the sensor element modifies the evanescent field of the optical detector and the sensor element is moved along a direction called transverse direction, substantially perpendicular to the longitudinal plane when it vibrates.

    An audio system comprises a plurality of membranes within an enclosure. A first surface of each membrane is part of a shared back volume within the enclosure and pressure within the shared back volume is configured to be isobaric. A second surface of each membrane is part of a front volume within the enclosure that includes a plurality of ports. A controller of the audio system is configured to drive the plurality of membranes. In a mode of operation, the controller is configured to match audio output between the plurality of ports, forming pressure waves of equal amplitude and opposite phase and generating a substantially dipole or linear quadrupole sound wave radiation pattern for frequencies above a predefined threshold and mismatch audio output between the plurality of ports for frequencies at or below the predefined threshold to generate a substantially monopole or cardioid sound wave radiation pattern.

    Interstitial brachytherapy is a cancer treatment in which radioactive material is placed directly in the target tissue of the affected site using an afterloader. The accuracy of this placement is monitored in real time using a urinary catheter that locates the radioactive material according to the radiation levels measured by sensors in the walls of the urinary catheter. A scintillator that is embedded in the walls of the urinary catheter produces light when irradiated by the radioactive material. This light is proportional to the level of radiation at each location. The light produced by each scintillator is carried through optical fibers and then converted to an electrical signal that is proportional to the light and the radiation level at each location. The radioactive material is located according to the plurality of electrical signals. This location can be used as quality control feedback to the afterloader.

    The present disclosure discloses a circularly polarized satellite antenna based on a magnetoelectric dipole. A floor is slotted, and an equivalent magnetoelectric dipole is excited using a grounded right-angle folded dipole, while two square parasitic patches are loaded to enhance a radiation performance, thus exciting a broadband high-gain circularly polarized radiation beam. The present disclosure utilizes the L-shaped right-angle folded dipole to simultaneously realize an ingenious combination of an electric dipole and a magnetic dipole, realizing a good circularly polarized radiation performance. At the same time, the present disclosure realizes circularly polarized radiation using a form of the magnetic dipole, which results in a stable pattern and a high gain.

    A computer-implemented method comprises: capturing spatially resolved dose profiles for an x-ray imaging scan of at least one examination object in accordance with initial recording parameters via a photon-counting x-ray detector, wherein each photon-counting detector element provides a dose value depending on a number of detected x-ray photons after an interaction between x-ray radiation and the at least one examination object, and wherein the dose profiles are formed by the dose values of the detector elements of each of one or more x-ray imaging scans; and provisioning adjusted recording parameters by applying a trained function to input data, wherein the input data is based on the initial recording parameters and the dose profiles, and the trained function is based on a dose-aware signal quality metric.
