ASEAN/RCARO/KIRAMS Project Planning Meeting  Capacity Building in Radiation Technology  5-6 September 2016, Seoul, Korea         Planning Meeting of ASEAN/RCARO/KIRAMS Project on capacity building on radiation technology was held on 5-6 September 2016 in Seoul, Korea. Inviting 17 participants from 10 countries, the meeting reviewed current status of radiotherapy in participating countries and set up a detailed work plan for three years and established strategy for synergy with IAEA/RCA Regional Project RAS6085 on Enhancing Stereotactic Body Radiation Therapy for Frequent Cancers in the RCA Region.

Regional Training Course onOrganization and Implementation of a National Regulatory Programme for the Control of Radiation Sources8 Aug. - 2 Sept. 2016, Daejeon, KoreaRegional Training Course on Organization and Implementation of a National Regulatory Programme for the Control of Radiation Sources is being held in International Nuclear Safety School of Korea Institute of Nuclear Safety (KINS), Daejeon, Korea, from 8th August to 2nd September, 2016. Under the framework of RAS 9073, IAEA, RCARO and KINS organized the training course focusing on building up the competence and expertise needed by national regulatory bodies in the region for the establishment and operation of an adequate regulatory programme for the safety and security of radiation sources. 16 participants from 8 countries are participating in the course.
