Pakistan's Executive Committee of the National Economic Council has formally given its approval to the project to build unit 5 of the Chashma nuclear power plant, two weeks after Pakistan's Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif took part in a ground-breaking ceremony for the reactor.

CFPP LLC has applied to the US Nuclear Regulatory Commission for a Limited Work Authorisation (LWA) to begin early construction activities for the proposed Carbon Free Power Plant on a site at the Idaho National Laboratory. Early-scope construction is expected to begin in mid-2025, with a view to commercial operation of the first NuScale power module at the site by the end of 2029.

China's State Council has approved the construction of six nuclear power units: units 5 and 6 of the Ningde plant in Fujian Province; units 1 and 2 of the Shidaowan plant in Shandong Province; and units 1 and 2 of the Xudabao plant in Liaoning Province.

The USA's Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency has finalised an agreement with Lockheed Martin to begin work on the fabrication and design of an experimental nuclear thermal rocket and its engine. The Bugey nuclear power plant site in eastern France has been selected by the country's Nuclear Policy Council for the installation of the third pair of EPR2 reactors, after the Penly and Gravelines sites.

Kairos Power has submitted an application to the US Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) for permission to build the Hermes 2 plant next to the Hermes molten salt test reactor it plans to build at Oak Ridge, Tennessee. The two-unit demonstration plant would produce and sell electricity.
