The first major event for the World Nuclear University (WNU) will be the first Summer Institute, to be held from 9 July-20 August 2005 at Idaho Falls, USA. It will be hosted by USDOE's Idaho National Laboratory (INL). Some 60 WNU first fellows - selected from among nuclear students and young professionals worldwide - will participate in a 6-week training experience featuring instruction from leaders in science, engineering and environment.

It is hoped that the students will come from up to 30 countries and will eventually become part of an expanding global network of future leaders in the nuclear profession. WNU was established last year September in London.
