The National RCA support staff of Member States met on 17 January 2005 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia for a week-long brain-storming meeting on electronic information technology. The meeting aimed at significantly enhancing the availability of RCA information flow and also to effectively preparing the next Meetings of National RCA Representatives (NRM) on a computer-based modality to keep up with modern trend. The meeting was organized by IAEA and MINT (Malaysian Institute for Nuclear Technology Research).
The next NRM (27th) is scheduled to hold in the second week of April 2005 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. For the first time in the RCA history, this Malaysia meeting will be provisioned by e-MIS that will lessen burdens of conventional hard-copies. It is anticipated that such e-MIS will enable the meetings on a more efficient and effective manner.
At the meeting, a more active and improved information flow amongst various RCA stakeholders was strongly reiterated. Also, the IAEA developed ‘LiveLink’ tool and the Malaysia based ‘RCA Members Only’ homepage should be more practically used. RCARO representatives attended at the meeting and made a presentation on the promotion of RCA visibility and viability.
