Dr Sukarman Aminjoyo was recently (mid-April) appointed as the new Chairman of BAPETEN (Badan Pengawas Tenaga Nuklir: Nuclear Energy Regulatory Authority) of Indonesia. He was the Executive Secretary of BAPETEN since early 2004 after has long associated with BATAN (Yogyakarta Establishment) while Dr Azhar Djaloeis, ex-Chairman, retired.
