IAEA/RCA Regional Training Course on “Clean Water and Air (radiation processing advanced processes for air, water and soil pollution control)” will be held in Beijing, China in 27 June - 1 July 2005. The main objective of this course is to convey the knowledge regarding perspectives of radiation processing for environment pollution control.
Environmental problems such as damage and degradation of natural resources are receiving ever increased attention throughout the world. In this regard, over the past few decades, radiation technology based techniques have been developed, demonstrated and deployed for alleviating some of environmental problems coupled with gaseous and liquid effluent waste. Eventually, it has been identified that the radiation technology offers advanced solutions to the selected environmental problems.
This training course will introduce the general concepts of modern radiation technologies and the possibility of application in the related fields. Focus will be made on creating and fostering understanding about the possibility of application of radiation technology for recyclable polymeric products development. Moreover, awareness building in quality management as well as the economic and social aspects of radiation technology implementation will also be emphasized.
