The purpose of the meeting is to disseminate information on techniques for the optimum production of radioisotopes.
The topic to be covered will include current radioisotope demand, target preparation technology for solid and gaseous targets, safety analysis of targets, irradiation technology, flux monitoring techniques, optimization of irradiation parameters to maximize radioisotope yield as well as quality and radiochemical processing methods. The information exchanged will enable the participants to identify areas in which the MS facilities can optimally utilize the reactor for production of radioisotopes in higher quantity, better quality and in large numbers.
The Technical Meeting is attended by participants from the following RCA member states: Bangladesh, China, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Pakistan, Thailand and Vietnam. Three (3) IAEA Experts and two (2) resource persons from FNCA are also invited to the meeting.
