International Workshop on Nuclear Technology for Managers of developing countries in the region opened on 30 August 2005 at the Int'l Nuclear Training and Education Center (INTEC) of KAERI, Korea for 10 days. The main objective of the workshop is to introduce latest development of the peaceful nuclear technologies worldwide so that to contribute to their future nuclear development strategy when planning.
This annual international event (the 2nd in 2005) is organized by KAERI (Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute) inviting high-level managers from developing countries in the region in order to promote better understanding about nuclear technology with a hope that the peaceful use of nuclear technology can further be expanded in their respective countries for the benefit of the society and people. RCARO will make a presentation at the workshop on the regional nuclear cooperation and the roles of RCA in contributing socio-economic development.
Participants are mostly from China, Indonesia, Thailand, Bangladesh and Viet Nam. Lectures at the workshop include advanced radiation technology for industrial, agricultural and medical applications; radiation safety; nuclear regulations; regional and international nuclear cooperation; energy planning; and so on.
