In order to promote RCA partnerships, RCARO, on behalf of RCA Member States, visited FNCA (Forum for Nuclear Cooperation in Asia) and envisaged on the possible development of mechanism for RCA-FNCA cooperation on complementary basis.

Dr Sueo Machi, the National Coordinator for Japan of the FNCA, reiterated the need to exchange information as a prerequisite for RCA-FNCA cooperation to identify practical cooperation areas. Dr Sueo Machi, having dual capacity as the Commissioner, Japan Atomic Energy Commission (JAEC), viewed that the socio-economic development of the region could even be more enhanced with orchestrated efforts by the two regional cooperative frameworks capitalizing distinctive advantages of nuclear technologies.

Mr Kun-Mo Choi, Director, RCARO, also expressed the view that harmonized cooperation between RCA and FNCA would not only contribute to the regional endeavors but also contribute to achieving the MDGs.
