IAEA/RCA Management Meeting on National Focal Persons on Radiation Protection with the Regional Manager will be held in 6-10 March 2006 in Singapore in cooperation with the Center for Radiation Protection of the Health Science Authority of Singapore.

Conformity to the IAEA standards on radiation protection is a mandatory requirement for the Member States. In this regard, IAEA is providing assistance to the Member States including those in East Asia and the Pacific Region to meet this requirement, through the Regional Projects on Radiation Protection and through projects implemented under the RCA programme. The Member States have been requested to appoint a Focal Person to coordinate activities under both projects in order to harmonize the activities of these two programmes.

The Singapore meeting in March will review the progress made and plan the programme of activities based on the real needs. Networking and communication amongst the National Focal Persons for radiation protection is another important facet of the programme.
