PNRI has been designated as the IAEA International Collaborating Center for Harmful Algal Bloom (HAB) research and the inauguration ceremony was held on 05 December 05 at PNRI with the participation of Hon. Augusto Santos, Secretary of Socio-economic Planning and Director General NEDA (National Energy Development Agency), Hon. Estrella Alabastro, Secretary of Department of Science and Technology (DOST), Dr Fauzi Mantoura, Director of the Marine Environment Laboratory (MEL) on behalf of IAEA, and Dr Alumanda dela Rosa, Director of PNRI.
