The IAEA/RCA Regional Training Course on Advanced Neutron Beam Technology and Application will be held from 26 February to 2 March 2007 in Daejeon, Korea in cooperation with the Government of Korea through Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute (KAERI).
This Training Course was organized following the recommendations by the participants of the previous IAEA/RCA Technical Meetings on Neutron Beam Applications, to organize a Regional Training Course on neutron beam experiments. The need to get hands on experience on new and cutting-edge instruments would be desirable and useful for the use of future use of research reactors in the region. The Course will give practical experience to young scientists in the region and help in the utilization of available facilities and in the development of new instruments or improvement of the existing instruments.
The objectives of the Training Course are: 1) to provide experts guidance and hands on experience in the utilization of instrument for neutron beam research such as neutron diffraction, SANS, 2) to provide practical training on applications of neutron beams, 3) to provide hands on training on data acquisition systems, detector testing etc, and 4) to provide training on the methods of data analysis.
