The RCA Project on "Distance Assisted Training for Nuclear Medicine Technicians” was initiated to assist RCA Member States in the training of nuclear medicine techniques engaged in clinical nuclear medicine imaging. The Distance Assisted Training (DAT) material and the guidelines for their use have been prepared and provided to the Member States which have established the infrastructure required for the use of DAT material as stipulated in the guidelines. The purpose of the Meeting is 1) to review the training needs of medicine technologists in areas not covered under the training modules that have been prepared, 2) to review the current status of implementation of the DAT Programme in the Member States which have established the necessary infrastructure and commenced the training programme and 3) to assess the current status of establishment of the required infrastructure in the Member States that have not yet fully met the requirements to receive the DAT material.
