At the invitation of FNCA, the Director of RCARO participated in the 10th FNCA Coordinators Meeting which was held on 11-13 March 2009 in Tokyo, Japan. He made a presentation on the activities of RCA and RCARO as well as a review of the projects for cooperation between RCA and FNCA during a session of the Meeting.

It was reconfirmed that cooperative actions between RCA and FNCA would be based upon exchange of information through reciprocal participation between the two parties, and that in general good progress was made particularly in the area of radiation processing. Cooperation for better progress was pursued in the area of radiation therapy and in the newly started area of mutation breeding.
