As decided at the 31st Meeting of the National RCA Representatives held in April in Tokyo, Japan, the RCARO Workshop on Partnership Promotion and Sustainable Development will be held at the Ramada Hotel, Jeju Island, Republic of Korea on 7-9 July 2009. At this Workshop, future-oriented ways will be discussed as to the development of strategy for promotion of partnership with international organizations and the setting-up of the future direction of the RCARO activities, as well as for the development of project concepts to formulate new RCARO projects to be implemented starting from 2010 onward. The participants for the Workshop are about 30 persons including some SAC members, invited experts from Member States, and RCARO staff.

Items to be discussed at the Workshop are specifically 1) to seek ways to increase RCA’s partnership with other organizations in line with RCA Medium Term Strategies, 2) to develop follow-up projects starting 2010 after the completion of the current RCA/UNDP Project in 2009, and 3) to discuss the future directions of the RCARO activities associated with the sustainability of RCARO. The results of the Workshop will be reported to the 38th RCA General Conference Meeting to be held at the IAEA in September this year.
