RCA was awarded for Best Practices in three areas from the IAEA
The IAEA’s Department of Technical Cooperation’s initiative for organization, documentation and dissemination of Best Practices, is a tool for on-going sharing of learning and innovation, networking, as well as the establishment of communities of practice, in line with the one or more relevant Key Principle(s) derived from the Agency’s policy framework: namely contributi0n to development goal; need and demand driven; peaceful use undertaking; safety and security; Member State ownership and shared responsibility; non0discriminatory; cooperation among member States and with partners; quality programme management; and transparency. In response to the call for proposals of the TC Best Practices Initiative, the RCA selected three examples to be submitted. New Zealand, Philippines, Australia and RCA Regional Office were designated to finalize the submissions to the TC. The proposals were assessed positively, and the three RCA proposals were granted the TC Best Practices Initiative awards on: 1) Building the future on strong foundations: evidence-based regional priorities for the RCA (https://www.iaea.org/sites/default/files/documents/tc/037.pdf); 2) Building the future on effective and sustainable technology transfer: an activeand monitored TCDC and partnership programme for the RCA (https://www.iaea.org/sites/default/files/documents/tc/038.pdf); and 3) Enhanced prosperity of RCA: RCA promotional and information programme engaging a wide range of stakeholders (https://www.iaea.org/sites/default/files/documents/tc/036.pdf). Official ceremony for presentation of the awards was arranged on 19 March 2013 during the 35th NRM in Nay Pyi Taw, Myanmar. The awarded certificates and published BP are attached herewith.
