The 48^th RCA General Conference Meeting held on 13 September 2019 at IAEA Headquarters, Vienna, Austria

The 48^th RCA General Conference Meeting (RCA GCM) was held on 13 September 2019 at the IAEA Headquarters in Vienna, Austria. Delegates from 17 RCA Government Parties and representatives from the RCA Regional Office attended the meeting. Mr Dazhu Yang, Deputy Director General and Head of the Department of Technical Cooperation, Ms Najat Mokhtar, Deputy Director General and Head of the Department of Nuclear Sciences and Applications, Ms Jane Gerardo-Abaya, Director of the Technical Cooperation Division for Asia and the Pacific and other Project Management Officers and Technical Officers participated from the IAEA.

Chaired by Mr T.M.R. Tennakoon, the Current RCA Chair, the meeting started with the introductory remarks by the IAEA Deputy Director Generals. The meeting agenda included the strategies and management issues of the RCA Programme, including the preparation for the upcoming 2022/2023 TC Cycle.

Distinctively, the plans to celebrate the 50^th Anniversary of the RCA in 2022 and to conduct social and economic impact assessment of its Programme were discussed during this meeting in order to analyze and appreciate the benefits that the RCA brought to the region for around half a century.
