IAEA/RCA Regional Training Course (RTC) on Clinical and Technological Aspects of Brachytherapy in Uterine Cervix Cancer will be held in Gunma University, Maebashi and NIRS, Chiba, Japan in 1-5 December 2003. The purpose of the training course is to present lectures and/or hands-on demonstrations about aspects of teletherapy and brachytherapy, as well as surgery, pathology, imaging, chemotherapy and molecular biology of uterine cervix cancer.
Lack of adequate training in clinical and technical aspects of radiotherapy for uterine cervix cancer deprives many women of optimum treatment for this cancer that is so common in the RCA region. This RTC was recommended as being essential for improving the quality of radiotherapy for uterine cervix cancer in the RCA region. The Forum for Nuclear Cooperation in Asia (FNCA) is collaboratively engaged in research to develop optimum techniques that may be disseminated to RCA Member States.
