IAEA/RCA Regional Training Course on Clinical Quality Assurance of Brachytherapy for Predominant Cancers in Asia will be held in Maebashi and Chiba, Japan in 12-16 July 2004. The purpose of the course is to provide basic knowledge on clinical protocol of brachytherapy for predominant cancers including uterine cervical cancers, head & neck cancer, lung cancer, esophageal cancer and prostate cancer.
The RTC will comprise of lectures and discussions on the following subjects: basic knowledge of brachytherapy for various cancers, dose prescription, clinical protocols, combination of external beam irradiation and brachytherapy, clinical consideration of HDR vs LDR, fractionation schedule and dose rate, normal tissue damage, normal tissue dose, QA of brachytherapy.
