IAEA/RCA Final Review Meeting on Restoration of Soil Fertility and Sustenance of Agricultural Productivity will be held in Bangkok, Thailand in 6-10 September 2004. The main purpose of the meeting will be to evaluate the main achievements of the project in line with its specific objectives. The evaluation will be based on: progress report submitted to the Agency, presentations by the participants and recommendations for future work.

The overall objective of this project is to develop improved soil, water, nutrient and crop management practices while counteracting predominant soil degradation processes like nutrient depletion, soil acidification and soil erosion in order to increase crop productivity. The main focus is on rice based cropping systems, which play an important role in food security of the region. The overall achievements of the project will be evaluated at this meeting.
