Dr Alumanda Dela Rosa, Director of the Philippine Nuclear Research Institute (PNRI) and the National RCA Representative of the Philippines recently received the Award of Outstanding Professional of the Year 2004 in the field of chemistry from the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC). The Award was given to her at the Awards Night held on 22 June 2004 at the Philippine International Convention Center. Dr Dela Rosa is also a Member of RCARO Advisory Committee.

Dr Dela Rosa was cited for their outstanding contributions to the chemistry profession in the field of research and development, in particular, in the applications of nuclear chemistry to solving the environmental and biomedical problems such as red tide, access to clean drinking water, mine tailings and marine ecosystems.
