IAEA/RCA Consultants’ Meeting and Validation Workshop on “Applied Science of Radiation Oncology (ASO) Pilot Course” will be held during 31 January - 3 February 2005 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in cooperation with the Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia. At the meeting, it is expected to deal with such problems as the severe shortages in trained radiation oncology personnel and in particular the lack of teaching resources in the Applied Sciences of Radiation Oncology.
At the previous Project Formulation Meeting to this effect in Kuala Lumpur in December 1999, it was decided that the development and use of an interactive teaching material on the Applied Sciences of Oncology (ASO) would contribute to the solution of the problem that the RCA Member States face. In keeping with the goals, the meeting aims to review the conduct and efficacy of the ASO Distance Learning pilot course and provide feedback and recommendations as to possible improvements in the pilot course materials, to provide pilot students with supplementary training on the ASO, an to provide feedback and recommendations for possible improvements in the course materials.
