ASEANTOM-RCARO Project Coordination Meeting, 19-20 February 2025, virtualASEANTOM-RCARO Project Coordination Meeting 19-20 February 2025, virtual A total of 40 participants from 10 ASEAN countries and Korea gathered for the ASEANTOM-RCARO Project Coordination Meeting, held virtually on February 19-20, 2025. This crucial event marks a significant milestone in the ongoing efforts to enhance nuclear and radiological emergency preparedness and response (EP&R) capabilities across the ASEAN region. The meeting commenced with opening remarks from Mr. Dae Ki Kim, Director of the RCA Regional Office (RCARO), who highlighted the importance of sustained regional cooperation to strengthen EP&R frameworks in ASEAN. This was followed by welcoming remarks by Mr Rosli Darmawan, the National RCA Representative of Malaysia, the ASEANTOM Chair Country and Dr. Yutthana Tumnoi, Lead Country Coordinator (LCC) of Phase 1-2 and Acting Expert on Atomic Energy at Thailand’s Office of Atoms for Peace (OAP). Over the two days, the meeting served as a platform for participating countries to review the achievements of previous project phases, discuss ongoing challenges, and chart a clear roadmap for the next three years (2025-2027).
