(10 Oct 2007) The RCARO staff paid a visit to the Advanced Radiation Technology Institute (ARTI) located in Jeongeup, 120 km away from Daejeon on October 10, 2007. The RCARO staffs were warmly welcome by the President and Vice President of ARTI. Given ample explanations on each equipment and facility, they were guided to visit laboratories and facilities such as: Central Analytical Lab, which houses various equipment including Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) and Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM). The visitors also took a good look at the cobalt-60 and electron beam application facilities and nearby plant breeding farm. This visit turned out to be a good chance to learn how much effectively and beneficially radiation technology can do for human, which undoubtedly shows that Korea is now on the way towards a new era of Nuclear Energy.
