(2 Dec. 07) As mandated by the 36th RCA General Conference Meeting, the RCARO Director, Mr. Kun-mo Choi, accompanied by Dr. Jae-sul Lee, Mr. Ki-soo yum of RCARO and relevant RCA project participants in the Philippines, visited PEMSEA (Partnerships in Environmental Management for the Seas of East Asia), CAI (Clean Air Initiative) Asia Center, and ADB (Asian Development Bank) in Manila on 3-4 December to develop and consolidate partnership with international organizations in the Asia Pacific region.

The Director explained the RCA projects for 2009-2011 in the area of environment and exchanged views on possibility of joint activities. Among the key areas of interest expressed by these organizations were RCA's participation in the PEMSEA 2009 Conference, RCA's participation in the CAI's Air Quality Management Database Program and joint collaboration with ADB in the area of Dust and Sand Storm in Asia.

Last September as the first leg of the Director’s visits to international organizations in an effort to explore enhanced RCA's partnership, he also visited UESCAP, UNEP and UNDP in Bangkok. The results of those visits will be reported to the 6th RCARO Standing Advisory Committee Meeting and the 30th Meeting of National RCA Representatives for their consideration on developing RCA future plan.
