Following up on the decision made by the 30th RCA NRM held 8-10 April 2008 in Hanoi, the RCA Regional Office enquired about a continuing service from the five members of the Selection Committee, which was composed in 2007, for the selection of the new RCARO Director to be appointed in April 2009. Following are all five members who have confirmed their continued services:

- Mr John Easey (AUL)
- Mr Manoon Aramrattana (THA)
- Mr Tran Huu Phat (VIE)
- Mr Poong-Eil Juhn (ROK)
- Mr M Prinath Dias (IAEA)

The RCARO will initiate the relevant procedure set in place by the members, and report on the progress to the 37th GCM in September 2008 in Vienna.
