The pressing system (2) further comprises a pressing structure (23); the pressing structure (23) comprises a pressing rod (231), a pressing spring (232), and a spring seat (233); the pressing spring (232) fills the first cavity (211); one end of the spring seat (233) penetrates into the first cavity (211) and abuts against the lower end of the pressing spring (232), and the other end of the spring seat (233) is used for pressing against an upper tube seat of the fuel assembly (3); the pressing rod (231) is fixedly connected to the central cylinder (21), and is located at the side of the supporting plate (22) away from the spring seat (233); the pressing rod (231) is used for abutting against the side of a reactor core upper plate (4) of the nuclear reactor core close to the fuel assembly (3), so as to prevent a related assembly from axially moving.

    Disclosed are embodiments of a nuclear fuel element for use in various types of nuclear reactors. One embodiment of the nuclear fuel element comprises a plurality of solid nuclear fuel particles, such as tristructural-isotropic (TRISO) fuel particles, intermixed in a non-solid matrix that is substantially stagnant relative to the plurality of solid nuclear fuel particles. The non-solid matrix may comprise a liquid metal, a liquid metal alloy, and a liquid salt. Various embodiments of the non-solid matrix include tin, lead, sodium, aluminum, bismuth, and alloys thereof. A method of manufacturing a nuclear fuel and embodiments of a nuclear fuel core comprising the nuclear fuel element are also disclosed.

    An angled fiber-based neural implant for neuromodulation and a method to manufacture such a neural implant is presented. The angled fiber-based neural implant comprises a fiber shank for inserting in neural tissue. The fiber shank comprises an optical waveguide, and the optical waveguide comprises a core and a cladding adapted so that light is able to propagate along the length of the optical waveguide. The shape of the core is arranged for providing a substantially uniform intensity distribution of light radiation from the core at the fiber tip, and the fiber tip comprises an angled surface. The end of the core and the end of the plurality of conduits are exposed at the angled surface, so that the plurality of conduits emanates at two, or more, different levels, where each level comprises a different depth into the tissue.

    A device for recycling sulfuric acid is provided. A container has an inner space. An inlet is located on the first side of the container for introducing a liquid containing sulfuric acid and hydrogen peroxide through a pump. An outlet is located on the second side of the container for exhausting the treated liquid from the container, and the first side and the second side are opposite sides. IR lamp and UV lamp are located in the inner space of the container for making contact with the liquid. IR radiation emitted from the IR lamp and UV radiation emitted from the UV lamp decompose the hydrogen peroxide in the liquid to water and oxygen. The IR radiation heats the liquid to 90° C. to 130° C., and the oxygen is exhausted through the air hole.
