The RCA Project on Harmonization of Radiation Protection has been implemented for 2003-04 cycle and extended to 2006. Under this project, a Coordination Group was established in order to liaise with the Regional Managers and the National Project Coordinators. This Coordination Group mainly reviews progress and effectiveness of the programme in the Member States on an annual basis. The Annual Coordination Meeting on Harmonization of Radiation Protection will be held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in 21-23 February 2005.

The IAEA/RCA project on Harmonization of Radiation Protection focuses on ensuring an effective programme in radiation protection suitable to meet national and regional needs. This annual meeting on harmonization of radiation protection will review and evaluate activities undertaken during the past year and lessons learned from its implementation. Emphasis will also be made on the harmonization between these projects and the RCA project. During the meeting, it is expected to review and revise the activities proposed in 2005-06 cycle. Furthermore, concept paper for the new RCA project on Radiation Safety for 2007-08 cycle will be developed and approved.
