RCA Scientific Forum with a theme of 'Fusion of Knowledge for Sustainable Development' will be held in 7-8 April 2005 at Grand Plaza Parkroyal Hotel in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in conjuction with the Meeting of National RCA Representatives that will be held prior to the forum. The forum is organized by MINT (Malaysia Institute of Nuclear Technology, Research).

At the Scientific Forum, emphasis will be placed on to address RCA's contribution to the development issues that the region faces, to discuss possible synergy effect amongst the development organizations to solving development problems, to identify enhanced utilization of resources and technologies that are currently available in the region, and to promote a better partnership among the various development organizations. The RCA stakeholders from the Member States, representatives of regional and international development organizations, and the senior government policy makers of RCA Member States are expected to participate in the Forum.

Keynote addresses will be made by Prof. Dr Ana Maria Cetto (Photo), Deputy Director General-Technical Co-operation of IAEA on 'Harnessing Nuclear Technology for Sustainable Development' and Dr Nahrul Khair Alang Md. Rashid, Deputy Director General for Research and Technology Development of MINT on 'Fusion of Nuclear and emerging Technologies for National Development'. A panel discussion on 'Fusion of Knowledge for Sustainable Development: Future Prospects' will also be highlighted.
