The Research Training Course on Outcome Assessment for the RCA Research Project on “Closing the Gap in Radiotherapy Access in RCA Government Parties (RCARP03)” was held on 19-20 February 2024 virtually via ZOOM, organised by the RCA Regional Office. There was a total of 54 participants including the Chief Scientific Investigators (CSIs) and their research team members and relevant experts from 7 RCA Government Parties (GPs); AUL, INS, MAL, MON, PHI, THA, VIE, Technical Officer (TO) of the project, experts and RCARO.
With the aim to enhance the capabilities of the participating countries in carrying out the research on the outcome assessment for analysis of the radiotherapy access in the region, participants actively engaged in the discussions to develop economic models of their countries. The training course involved various topics such as introduction to economic modelling and investment frameworks, building the case for investment and translating evidence into policy, accounting for equity in economic analysis and priority setting, and applying decision analytic modelling to economic analysis.
The participants also reviewed the project progress and 2024 work plan. The Research Coordination Meeting will be held virtually in May 2024 to share the major outcomes of the research, review the project progress and have a technical workshop following this RTC.
