RCARO and BRIN Held a Strategic Workshop on Cooperating for NS&T Development in Indonesia

During the 67th IAEA General Conference held in September last year, RCARO and the National Research and Innovation (BRIN) signed a Letter of Intent (LoI) concerning cooperative research, developments and training projects in nuclear science and technology and related techniques.

As a follow-up, delegates from BRIN, Mr Mego Pinandito, Deputy Chairman for Development Policy, Mr Totti Tjiptosumirat, National RCA Representative of Indonesia and Executive Director of the International Nuclear Agency, and Mr Sasa Sofyan Munawar, Director of Competency Development, visited Korea on 22-27 January 2024 to participate in a workshop with RCARO to discuss strategies and activities for cooperation. Based on the survey result on taken prior to the event, the workshop consisted of presentations and facility tours aiming share the technical development status as well as cooperation strategies for promoting nuclear science and technologies relevant to the priorities of Indonesia.

On the last day of the workshop, RCARO and BRIN agreed on detailed areas and actions to work together for facilitating regional R&D activities in the fields of nuclear science and relevant technologies.
