Mr Zhang Jing of China assumed the new Section Head (SH) position responsible for IAEA technical co-operation programmes for East Asia and the Pacific (TCAP-1) under the Division of Asia and the Pacific, Department of Technical Co-operation, IAEA, beginning from early August 2006.

Mr Zhang Jing has served as the Director General for IAEA Affairs of the CAEA (Chinese Atomic Energy Authority), as well as the National RCA Representative of China, before he was appointed as the new Section Head. On the other hand, Mr Ansar Shamsi of Pakistan was newly appointed as the Section Head (TCAP-2) under the same Division.
