Mr Chouvana Rodthongkom was recently appointed as the new Secretary General (SG) of the Office of Atoms for Peace (OAP), Thailand, succeeding Mr Manoon Aramrattana.
He was the Deputy Secretary General of OAP responsible for Administration and Regulation and also served many years as the Director of Chemistry Division of OAP. His scientific background is chemistry.

Mr Chouvana Rodthongkorn studied at Chularongkorm University in Bangkok and joint OAP (formerly OAEP) in 1971 as a scientist in Chemistry Division. At that time, he was responsible for analytical chemistry and neutron activation analysis. Later he was responsible as the Leader for Rare Earth Separation Programme of OAP, Director of Chemistry Division, Director of Bureau of Radiation Safety Regulation, just before he served as the Deputy SG of OAP.
