IAEA/RCA Regional Training Course on "Interventional Methods in Nuclear Medicine" will be held from 6-10 December 2004 in Mumbai, India. The training course is organized as a component of RCA project for 'Use of Radiosynoventomy in the Management of Patients Suffering from Painful Joint Disorders'. The course is supported by the Department of Nuclear Medicine, P.D. Hinduja National Hospital.

The course is aimed to train nuclear physicians in interventional nuclear medicine in the fields of nuclear oncology, gastroenterology, endocrinology, cardiology, nephrourology and theraphy. Along with the training fields, the following activities will be focused during the course:

- To have an update on all interventional radionuclide diagnostic and therapeutic procedures
- To perform these procedures in their own centers
- To select appropriate protocols
- To interpret the results of treatment
- To recognise possible pitfalls
- To understand how these procedures contribute to patient management
- To recognise strengths and weaknesses of these, vis a vis other diagnostic and therapeutic modalities in the field of medicine.

The training course includes coverage of a wide range of aspects of interventional nuclear medicine diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. Coverage will also include overview of the radiopharmaceuticals and instrumentation/computer methodology.
